Flint Hills Ballet Folklorico is a local dance group which performs traditional folkloric dances from different states of Mexico, and by this, they strive to preserve and pass down Mexico's rich cultural heritage.
Each of Mexico’s 32 states is very distinct from the other – in landscape, cuisine, art, and in music. Each has its own style of music, traditional dances, and folkloric costumes. Our aim is to study and perform Mexican folkloric dances from various states, thereby learning and appreciating their individual art and charm.
Going into its fifteenth year, the Ballet’s goal is to learn, promote and share the beauty and culture of Mexico through the art of folkloric dance. The Ballet provides a cultural, wholesome, and fun activity for youth and adults, from any ethnic background, and gives them the opportunity to perform in several programs throughout the year.
